Chandel Election district consist of one assembly segment, namely 41 – Chandel (ST) Assembly Constituency having 80 Polling Stations at present. The assembly segment is a part of 2 – Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency. The Deputy Commissioner, Chandel is the District Election Officer, Chandel and is supported by the Additional District Election Officer/ERO/ADC, Chandel and SDOs/AEROs of Chandel.
The District Election Officer, Chandel with the participation of all departments in the district conduct General Elections to Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly Elections from time to time under the supervision of the Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur and the Election Commission of India.
Conduct of regular summary revision of electoral rolls in coordination with the EROs, Sub Divisional Officers/ AERO, BLOs and various other stakeholders of the district, Manpower Management, Training Management, Material Management, Transport Management, Computerization, Cyber Security and IT, Law and Order, VM and Security Plan, EVM Management, MCC, Expenditure Monitoring, Ballot paper, Postal Ballot and ETPBS, Media, Communication Plan, Electoral Rolls, Complaint Redressal and Voter Helpline etc. are some of the important activities/areas looked after by District Election Officer, Chandel. The office of the District Election Officer, Chandel strives to educate and enroll the eligible members of the public through various outreach programs such as the SVEEP, Electoral Literacy Clubs etc. round the year.
